A collage of famous heroes and villains

Join with the South Burnett Community Orchestra for our annual end of year concert on 7th December.  Previously this concert has been performed at Kumbia Memorial School of Arts Hall but the orchestra has grown a little large for this venue!  This year, we will present an exciting, family friendly concert at the Kingaroy Town Hall. Doors open at 5pm for a 5.30pm start.  You'll hear some familiar and new music based on our theme for 2019 - Heroes and Villains.  The SBCO singers will also be joining us.

There will be heaps of chairs, or bring a rug and sit at the front if you have little ones.

The concert is free - all welcome!

You have the option to join us for BBQ dinner at interval.  Includes sausage or steak burger, salads, dessert, punch, tea & coffee.  Adults $15, Child 12 & under $10.  Meal vouchers must be pre-purchased by Wednesday 4th December.  You can book online at www.trybooking.com/BGIIU, or get meal tickets in person from Kingaroy Office Central on Haly st.

Alternately, you are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the Town Hall forecourt during interval.

SBC-YO "Young" Orchestra

SBCO presents: SBC - YO "Young" Orchestra - for developing musicians of all ages!

During 2019, we have welcomed less experienced musicians of all ages to enjoy a series of free orchestral workshops throughout 2019.  The music to be learned during the workshops is best suited to musicians of about AMEB grade 1 level or above.

Several guest conductors and specialist tutors have been involved during the year, including SBCO Musical director Jo Kennedy (Conductor, Strings), Trestan McMillan (Brass), Jeff Jarrott (Percussion), Matthew Henry (Guest Conductor) and welcoming back some familiar faces Shannon Sellick (Woodwind) and Fraser Mathew (Percussion)

Workshops were held on Saturdays, from 9am to 4pm.  Most were held at Kingaroy Uniting Church Hall, corner of Alford and Youngman streets, and some at Kingaroy Town Hall, adjacent.

Workshop dates: March 30, May 4, June 1, August 3, September 7 and October 26.  The SBC-YO successfully performed as the opening act at the SBCO "Heroes and Villains" Charity Fundraiser on September 14th.

There will be a free community concert at the conclusion of the final SBC-YO workshop on 26th October.  Everyone is welcome at the Kingaroy Town Hall at 3pm on Saturday 26th October, to see what SBC-YO has been working on.

Proudly supported by the South Burnett Community Orchestra, FRRR: the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (Tackling Tough Times Together) and the Red Earth Community Foundation, South Burnett.
