SBC-YO "Young" Orchestra

SBCO presents: SBC - YO "Young" Orchestra - for developing musicians of all ages!

We invite less experienced musicians of all ages to enjoy a series of free orchestral workshops throughout 2019.  The music to be learned during the workshops is best suited to musicians of about AMEB grade 1 level or above.

Several guest conductors and specialist tutors will be involved during the year, including SBCO Musical director Jo Kennedy (Conductor, Strings), Trestan McMillan (Brass), Jeff Jarrott (Percussion), Matthew Henry (Guest Conductor) and hopefully a familiar face to assist our woodwind players.  Other guest conductors and tutors will be confirmed throughout the year.

Workshops will be held on Saturdays, from 9am to 4pm.  Most will be at Kingaroy Uniting Church Hall, corner of Alford and Youngman streets, and some at Kingaroy Town Hall, adjacent.  All SBC-YO participants will need to sign in, and those under 18 will need to be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.  Remember to bring a packed lunch - morning and afternoon tea provided.

Workshop dates: March 30, May 4, June 1, August 3, September 7 and October 26.  The SBC-YO may also perform at the SBCO "Heroes and Villains" Charity Fundraiser on September 16.
