The South Burnett Community Orchestra (SBCO) is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on the generosity of its supporters and sponsors.  Any contribution, small or large is not only gratefully appreciated but very much needed to help us bring the community, and you, the best musical experience possible.

The SBCO is looking to partner with Business and Community to continue to deliver cultural learning, well-being and entertainment opportunities for our regional musicians and audiences while raising the profile of our business partners.

The Orchestra plays a vital role in the lives of its members who give their time voluntarily and in return gain so much from the opportunity to share their passion for music in a supportive, community-minded group.  This role has proven to be even more important as members and their families continue to struggle from the impact of the ongoing drought and associated flow-on effects in our region.   Many of the members have made life-long friendships through the group and find solace in their everyday lives in the playing opportunities it provides.

For over 15 years, SBCO has worked with the community to bring some amazing opportunities to our rural families, providing access for musicians to quality learning opportunities while bringing together people from all walks of life to share their passion for music.  Thanks to these opportunities, SBCO has in turn been able to give back to the community through fundraising concerts – more recently, in 2018 donating over $6,600 to Legacy and, in 2019, $3,500 to the QCWA Public Rural Crisis Fund to support our local farming heroes through the continuing drought.
